Hormone Optimization (BHRT)
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a medical specialty focused on restoring the body to balanced and optimal hormone levels. BHRT uses hormones that are identical on a molecular level with endogenous hormones in the body. Hormone therapies include treatment for low thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, and/or testosterone.
Traditional hormone therapy (HRT) involves the use of manufactured hormones from synthetic sources, while bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) involves the use of hormones derived from natural sources. Bio-identical hormones are exact copies of the hormones that are found in the human body. They are used, metabolized, and excreted in the same way our natural hormones are. These biologically identical hormones have the same benefits and effects as our own — unlike synthetic hormones that try to mimic natural hormones, but have different side effects and safety profiles.
“Normal” is a term used to describe a statistical average. The “normal” reference ranges on your lab results are based on a very large group of people including ages ranging from 20-years to 80-years old. “Optimal” is a term used to describe a high standard of health that is specific to your age and stage of life. Alpha Health focuses on alleviating symptoms and restoring hormones to levels optimal for you.
Both men and women can benefit from BHRT during any stage of the aging process. The decline of hormone levels in your body is a natural part of aging. Your dosing, route of administration, and treatment plan will be continually monitored and adjusted by your provider. Alpha Health providers maintain their Advanced BHRT Certification and practice evidence-based medicine to ensure you achieve optimal results.
Testosterone Replacement (TRT)
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) uses testosterone medication to help restore the body to balanced and optimal T-levels. A man’s testosterone can begin declining in his 30’s leading to low energy, low libido, weight gain, brain fog, decreased muscle mass, and sexual dysfunction.
TRT can help you increase libido, improve sexual function, increase muscle mass, improve mood, and sharpen your mind. Testosterone is crucial to maintaining a man’s motivation, sexual function and virility throughout the aging process.
Along with a decreased quality of life, low T-levels are also associated with a variety of health risks. Low testosterone puts you at risk for: heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, coronary artery disease, prostate cancer, obesity, chronic inflammation, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, and metabolic syndrome.
We prescribe testosterone in the form of a compounded cream or injection.

Explanation: At Alpha Health of NJ, the client and their provider work together to develop a customized plan; without a third party. Although health insurance is important to have, especially when it comes to “sickness”, it is not very useful for a clinic like ours where the focus is on “wellness and optimization”.
